Re: bulb planting tools ?


Many members of the American Daffodil Society believe that you get bigger and 
better flowers if you double dig, that is, if the soil is worked at least two 
spadesful deep.  (We are doing an experiemtn during the next two years to 
confirm this.)  So if you are using an electric drill and auger to plant 
daffodil bulbs, you might want to drill as deep as you can, 20-24", fill with 
loose soil, then plant the bulb about 8" down.  I would bet you would be very 
pleased with the results.
