Do you have white flowers coming out of the colored pine cone-like things?
(I'm not very scientific) I believe we may have the same plant as the
hummingbirds love this thing. I noticed yesterday that they only visit the
parts of the plant that have white petals coming from the central "cone".
By the way, my plant has yellow "cones". The stem is woody up to a certain
point, then green. The leaves are serrated and dark green. Right now, it
looks like a little shrub on my patio. Quite large and blooms most of the
summer. Definitely not hardy here.
