This is not a balanced picture.
"Pests" numbers are not effected by predators but on the availability of food
and diseases.
Predator numbers conversely are effect by prey "pest" numbers.
Most of the studies that I have seen on insect prey and predators
relationships show that predators do not have any real effect on the number
of pests.
