I have quite a few veronica blooming at the time and the folage on some
is a little shrivled up--I feel sure it is because of the LONG DRY spell
we are experiencing. Some of my chelone, even though they bloomed,
blossoms turned brown and dried up much faster than in a more normal
year. My one purple aster is blooming beautifully but it is lucky enough
to be in one of the two beds that I water. and the others mentioned are
not so lucky.
As a mattter or fact, I have already pruned most of my large perennial
bed back to about 4 inches and am ready for fall.
