I found the compost at an old Lumber Mill that has been here in my town
for years and years. The owner passed away several years ago.
this is where they processed wood into lumber for building. there is a
lot of saw dust located there also, but the wood shavings looked so
much better. on the surface it was very dry and light, but when you
dug down with the shovel it was wet and rich looking. you could tell
that the wood had gone through the rotting process. and I know that
the lumber mill has been in this location for 30 or 40 years maybe
longer. It was a beautiful sight. I hope to be able to return for
more. got to do it before we get rain, because if I don't I'll never
be able to get back in or out.
