Nasturtiums - a happy accident

We've just been on holiday to France. We weren't very
impressed by people's front gardens that we saw (I don't
think they go in much for gardening, certainly in the area
we were visiting). However, just along from our campsite,
there was a hedge with nasturtiums growing up through it. I
thought this was so lovely, that I stopped the car to show
my 12 year old daughter - she loves gardening and takes a
very active part in planning and working in our garden here
at home. We thought we might have a go at this next year.
We got back from holiday on Saturday and have had 3 days of
solid, very heavy rain so we've not been able to look at the
details of our garden. This morning the sun came out, I
looked down the garden while I was having my breakfast and
in the top of the hedge at the end (8 or 9 feet up) were
some lovely little yellow flowers. Yes, you've guessed it.
The nasturtiums that my 12 year old planted in the spring in
the border at the base of the hedge had grown up through it
while we were away. It looks great.
