Congratulations on having such success with Dodecatheon media (5
transplant plugs have spread extensively). Would appreciate a short
description of certain critical factors, i.e., especially your soil type
(e.g., light, sandy, etc.??), your burn frequency (annual, fall/very early
spring??) and the relative thickness of the surrounding native
grasses/forbs, etc.
In my 20-acre prairie (in south-central Michigan), this forb just
emerged (1/4 inch high) today! Individual plants have always appeared very
healthy, but proliferation of such has not been evident. Many thanks,
Cliff Welsch
