Book titles

I've recently purchased two books that others may be interested in.
"Tallgrass Prairie Wildflowers" by Doug Ladd and Frank Oberle, published by
Falcon Press in cooperation with the Nature Conservancy, 1995, is a very
nice picture book covering the original tallgras prairie region. It does
not have a key but is still useful for identification and as a "wish" book.
The second book, "Restoring the Tallgrass Prairie, An Illustrated Manual
for Iowa and the Upper Midwest" by Shirley Shirley (that's not a typo, it
is her name), published by University of Iowa Press, Iowa City, 1994, is
also useful for those trying to establish plants. She has a few several
general chapters on site selection, preparation, and establishing a
restored prairie. She also has a page of information on each plant, for
about 100 forbs and grasses, that covers location, plant description,
propagation, germination, harvest, and comments. There is a pencil sketch
of each plant. I don't know what else is out there for books on restoration
so I can't compare it qualitatively, but it appears very useful.
