Richard,
If your short visit to the US permits travel to Illinois and other
mid-western states, there are several natural areas and restorations worthy
of your interest. Help us know what is within your travel range (i.e., not
"too far") and suggestions will follow. By the way Prof. James Hitchmough
(Sussex) visited the midwest last year. He may have suggestions as well.
