Re: crown vetch chemical control

James-if the plants are still green in late fall try spraying with Stinger.
We have found the most effective chemical controls are in late fall when the
plants are storing food in their roots.

A friend of mine says every species has an Achilles' heel, it is just a
matter of finding it and thus dealing with the problem. Many exotic legumes
stay green until there are below freezing temperatures, and thus in the
northern states, they can be sprayed when the prairie is dormant. Be
careful, however, prairie plants less than two years old will also stay
green and vunerable right up until the ground freezes.
