Greetings,
We have Japanese honeysuckle in some of our urban nature preserves near
waterways in Austin, Texas. Where it is established, it covers areas of
about 20' x 20'- thus far. Seeds don't seem to be much of a problem, but
it does of course spread well vegetatively. I haven't tried spraying it
yet. The exotic wax-leaf ligustrum is a MUCH bigger problem for us in
the same areas and we focus on removing it. Has anyone got a tried and
true method for removing exotic honeysuckle? Elbow grease and cut-stem
treatment with an herbicide? What might be the best time of year?
