Re: looking for info about easy-to-grow prairie plant


I would try Rudbeckia hirta or Black-eyed Susans.  They germinate easily
without stratification.
The seeds are rather inexpensive, as well.  You can buy them from Prairie
Nursery in WI.
They have a really nice website.  You could also try some of the short prairie
grasses.
Many of them germinate readily without stratification, such as Little Bluestem
or Canada Wild Rye.
