My personal prairie restorations were planted each year starting in 1994 so
they are pretty new plantings, but I work for a company that has been doing
prairie restoration since 1986.  One of the biggest complaints that we have
gotten from clients is that there isn't enough flowers in the prairie
planting.  Most of the time we were able to satisfy them by seeding in
additional forb seed directly into an established grass stand without
herbicides.
