Hello back,
	I am not aware of a map that fits your description, however I am not
necessarily an authority on prairies and prairie history.  I might refer
you to a couple of people that have probably had a lot more experience than
I, and have the resources to find that information.  One is Tom Rosburg at
Drake University in Des Moines, his e-mail address is:
coneflwr@netins.net  (that is his home address, I don't currently have his
university address)  And the other is a James Traeger in Missouri
James.trager@mobot.org
One other that just came to mind is Cindy Hildebrand in Ames,
Grantridge@aol.com
You might try those three and see what they can offer you.
