Title: Re: prairie map
Hello, Teresa,
Great idea. The best map I've ever seen is in a book published by the Audubon Society. It's called "Grasslands" by Lauren Brown. It is part of their Audubon Nature Guides. Publisher Alfred A. Knopf, 1985. Grasslands, Lauren Brown. ISBN 0-394-73121-2

Hello,
I am wondering where I can find a map of the entire US with an emphasis on prairies. I want to teach a lesson on early westward expansion to a seventh grade social studies class. I wanted to show how early pioneers avoided the prairie because they considered it a wasteland and desert. I want to show that admission to the US was directly related to how much prairie each state had.
I hope I am not being too presumtuous since I found your name on the Internet.
Sincerely,
Teresa K. Fite
