                They are seed producers from Northcentral Missouri and
                have had considerable experience with this species. They
                also supply seed of this species. We have reintroduced this
                species to our central Wisconsin sand prairie and oak
                savanna restorations. Yes, they prefer moist, or at least
                seasonally moist sand with relatively light to moderate
                competition. It is an annual but reseeds profusely. Not sure
                how well it would provide nectar to hummingbirds. Check the
                hummingbird websites for advice. Good luck.
