Indian paintbrush-castillegia coccinea

Hello, this is Heather Carter from northwest Ohio-zone 6. I have been adding
native plants to my garden in hopes of attracting hummingbirds. I have
trumpet creeper, cardinal flower, jewelweed, and columbine. Recently, I've
found a source for Indian paintbrush seeds. I have read this is a good
hummer plant, that it's native and that it likes moist, sandy soil. Is this
correct? Does anyone have information on getting it to grow from seed? Can
it tolerate clay or shade? Also, any other suggestions for native hummer
plants would be appreciated.
