If you dont mind.... could you give where some of these costs came from?

We are a burn contractor working in the Chicago Metro area in IL.  The costs
you have given would not even cover our insurance ??  Having done LOTS of
burns on corporate properties on these types of blue grass conversions no
corporate land owner will even think about letting a burn happen with out full
insurance coverage in place.. Any other costs from others on the list would be
appreciated...

Also, are these actual costs from projects done.. or projected costs...  The
Chicago Metro area has done a lot of these types of corporate conversions of
bluegrass.. one of the early problems here has been cost figures that were
projected by restorationists not familiar with actual costs for contracted
work...

 Here are some numbers we have used for cost justification on installation.
 
 PRAIRIE: (one acre)
 Herbicide=$112.00
 Discing=$60.00
 Harrowing=$53.00
 Drilling=$73.00    ( Chicago Area site prep costs for prairie installation...
+/- $ 400 per acre)


 1st year burn=$48.00
 2nd year burn=$48.00
 3rd year burn=$100.00

Costs for burns on commercial sites will vary from as much as $ 1,000 per acre
( costs to mobilize a crew to a site for a small 1 acre instalation and lose a
burning day) to $ 200 per acre for larger units in more rural areas... 


 Seed=750.00   ( Chicago Area Seed costs.... range depending on seed mix
used.. need to plan on  $ 1,250 - 1,500 per acre)
 Total=$1419.  00 >>
