Hi-
I happen to have a friend from Texas who has been involved in range management.
TAMU is active in brush control because they try to keep areas open for
cattle foraging and grassland management.
This website might be helpful to you http://texnat.tamu.edu/BrushBusters/index.htm
As a starting point, you might contact any of the staff mentioned on the website.

Hi all, which herbicides can be used to kill a large area of undesirable trees?
I've been told there are systemic herbicides that will travel from tree to tree.
This is a grassland area in a clay gravel soil not close to any stream or pond;
the trees are predominantly non-native invasives such as chinaberry (Melia).
