Re: plant id


There are some milkweed species with alternate leaves, but yours 
sound like the common milkweed, which normally has opposite leaves, 
but occasionally produces a plant with another arrangement, i.e. 
alternate or even whorls of three. This can happen in response to 
damage to buds by insects, herbicides or whatever...
