Re: "...warm us up... "

We have about 8 acres of prairie in So Illinois. We usually burn about 3/4 of it every spring. This year's burn was about three week ago and now it's fun to walk around and see all the new shoots coming up.

And, yes, burning does seem to keep the tick numbers down.
