Re: News from the home front

Hi to the Prairie Group.

My name is Pat and I live in Texas.  We bought acreage in the Texas Hill
Country west of San Antonio.  The land had been used for grazing cattle then
goats and who knows what else.  The cleared area is approximately 7 acres and
is covered mostly in speargrass.  I have been working to restore it to its
former splendor :-)  Restoration is a really tough job.  We have planted
bluebonnets to grow along with the wild verbena and numerous other
wildflowers.  I joined this mailing list for ideas and knowledge and someone
to share my love of wildflowers with.  The bluebonnets are just starting to
send up there little flower stalks and on I-10 West there were Indian
paintbrush, bluebonnets, Missouri Primrose and Evening Primrose already in
bloom on the edges of the highway.  Hope this list gets more active and SOON.
