Sounds wonderful--somehow I have never managed to get to that part of the
world at the right time. FYI, there is another display on "xero-scaping"
(landscaping with native, low-water-requiring plants) at the science museum
in Corpus Christi. I saw it in December as part of an elderhostel program.
Not as good as what you describe for Austin, tho.
Spring has not yet sprung here in central Illinois; yesterday the first of
the woodland wildflowers (toothwort) were just polking their leaves through
the forest floor. Prairie is still dormant.
Don't apologize for lack of latin names--half of us wouldn't recognize them
anyway. (Personally, I remember which ever name I learned first!)
