Hi Julie,
Did you get those seeds from me - can't remember? G. triflorum does not need
a cold period although it doesn't appear to be harmed by one. I does,
however germinate best in outdoor conditions in fall or spring where it can
get both warm days and cool nights, or at the very least in a cool area
inside. I get germination both inside at room temperature and outside stuck
in the frost free greenhouse, but germination inside is not as good and is
more erratic. Were it me I'd put it outside in a screen covered frame or
other protected area now.
Seed also looses its potency quickly. Seed is really good for about 1 year.
The following year the germination rates are drastically reduced if the seed
is dry stored in warm temperatures. Putting it in the refrigerator will help.
Good luck. Yell if you need more seed.
Grow well,
Amber
