Thank you, Thank you!!
We will be able to get some of the infomation you suggested
especially on the prescribed burn events. I know the record keeping is
really good thanks to the Wildlan Fire Department on base. They
train with other agencies here on base so there should be plenty of info.
Aslo, up until last year we had only a few weather stations,
but there is one near the "live fire" are at the request of the base
Wildland Fire Manager. It reads directly to his office with soil moisture,
temp, wind speed and precip so even tho past info
was lacking, we should have a little more to look at in the future.
We will also be taking a look at soil samples as well.
The perscribed burning is done during the dormant season, but the
wildland fires happen all year and althought we "know" this-I had
forgotton to actually write it down!!
I will look for the article you suggested. I'm sure I can get it at the
University or local library.
Guess I have *tons* to learn :) Thanks again for your suggestions.
