Re: grass/forb ratios

Generally we try to plant about 30 percent grass and 70 percent forbs by
weight.

By seed count it is about eight or nine to one, forbs to grass.  Forb seed
does not weigh much, but grass seed is heavy.

Most mixtures contain far to much grass, and it is by in large an economic
issue.  Forbs cost much more than grass seed when you but them in large
quantities and have good species diversity.
