Does anyone know if Echinacea spp are totally
insect pollinated? If so by what size pollinators?
My dilema is this.. I have a couple small
collections of pale purple coneflowers and a lesser amount of narrowleaf.
These are side by side in rows. I would like to increase the seed from
each but keep it pure. If they are only insect pollinated is there a
netting that could be set up over the narrowleaf and som butterflies inserted or
any other solutions other than clipping all the buds off? Thank you in
advance.
