Re: echinacea help

Pollinators of Echinacea species. Our local Echinacea laevigata in NE
GA seems to have a variety of insects visitors. Three types that I can
recall are: 1) Lepidoptera, fritillary butterflies about 6cm wingspan
and skippers which seem to be up to 2 cm wingspan are the largest
visitors, 2) Hymenoptera, very small iridescent green or blue bees or
wasps, 3) Coleoptera, very small <0.5cm beetles.
This is a very sketchy idea about the pollinators, but does give some
sense of their range of size.
