I don't have the distinguishing characteristics but have a possible source
of information for you. The Blackwell cultivar was developed by the Kansas
State Plant Material Center (from seed collected near Blackwell,
OK) and released in 1944. The Plant Material Center is in Manhattan, KS
(phone 785-539-8761).
