Prairie for sale

Hi folks.  A 49 acre, high quality little
bluestem-indiangrass-bigbluestem prairie may become available within the
next few weeks in Collin Co, TX.  The prairie supports an abundance of
forbs including azure sage, wildblue indigo, rattlesnake master, new
jersey tea, and purple coneflower.   The tract has one of the best
viewsheds in Collin Co-- really scenic. It is currently under threat of
subdivision for housing, but the developer-- who appears to be
interested in prairie conservation-- might be willing to sell most of
the tract to a single conservation buyer.  The tract adjoins another 50
acres of already subdivided prairie (2-16 acre lots) and is adjoined on
the other side by a city  park.

It would be great to locate a conservation buyer who would place the
land in trust.  Perhaps hold out a homesite, but put the rest under
easement with a local landtrust.
