Re: Prairie seed on eBay?

At the risk of being flamed for posting this message; I have just set up a
Native Seed Auction section on my site: www.prairiesource.com I'm sorry,
but since the subject has been breeched and I have the perfect
solution......

To sell or buy seed, register and post your offering or place a bid. There
is no fee to register or bid only to post offerings. The process is similar
to e-bay. What separates this from e-bay is there is a form that you can
download or print off reminding you of all the questions to answer such as
origin, seed test, native or cultivar, etc. In addition, Prairiesource is a
site dedicated to wildflowers and native grasses, you don't have to sort
through thousands of non-related postings.

Since I've gone this far I will continue with this blatant promotion. If you
are not interested STOP HERE. I promise, however, this will be the only time
I will be this commercial in this forum.

Prairiesource is currently averaging about 18,000 impressions or well over
120,000 hits per month of prairie enthusiasts from all states and several
countries, creating a very targeted audience. The site is loaded with free
content. All of the following are free: screen saver of prairie images,
e-postcards, The Native Grass Manager Online newsletter and access the
archive, a PLS Calculator, Bibliography of research articles, links to
prairie/native related sites, a bulletin of meeting/conference announcements
or political action items, become a member of the Prairie Partners Network
and what I call the "meat and potatoes" of the site, a wildflower database
that can be searched for one or multiple criteria with pictures and detailed
species descriptions. You can also use the database to calculate a mix for
you.

I'd be the last to tell anyone where to surf or shop but I have been a
strong supporter of prairies and native restoration for 18 years. During
that time I have planted 1000's of acres of native grasses and forbs, but am
more proud of the fact that I have killed 1000's of acres of fescue. I am a
long standing member of the Missouri Prairie Foundation, Missouri Native
Plant Society and recently sponsored a coffee break at the North American
Prairie Conference in Mason City, IA. Does e-bay do any of that?

I await the flames, but hope they aren't too bad;
Jef Hodges
