Good book

I just purchased "Tallgrass Prairie Wildflowers", published by the
Nature Conservancy. I must say that it has some of the best
photographs that I've seen in a wildflower book to date, and the
botanical descriptions are fair. It also covers many more species
than I'm used to seeing in prairie guides, and seems to expand
into less common selections.

My biggest disappointment is the organization of the book -- it groups
plants by flower color. This makes it hard to find a plant when
just looking for a name, but also forces the reader into false beliefs
with certain species. For example, shooting star is listed as a pink
flower, but it is also available in white. Without that advance
knowledge, the reader might never know that white forms exist. There
is no mention whatsoever in the text.

Has anyone else come across recent publications that merit attention?
I'd be interested in hearing about them...
