Re: Good book
Hi Chris,
I have to agree that the wildflower field guide is excellent. It has
helped me tremendously in finding plants in the wild for seed
collection. It does say in the front however that you might need to
check other colors for some plants because of variations in the wild.
Another super book that I came across (about the same time) is The
Tallgrass Restoration Handbook by Stephan Packard and Cornelia Mutel
published by Island Press (1997) It has a ton of information on
planning, starting, and maintaining a prairie restoration. My wife and
I are in the third year of a small project (1/4 acre) and hoping to
expand this fall and spring.
