As a result of the very heavy rains and flooding in the DeKalb County,
Illinois, area last year, we have been motivated to see what can be done to
reduce the flooding of our area. One suggestion has been to plant native
prairie plants in areas where flooding is an issue to help retain water. We
are also hoping to start a program of growing plants along streambanks to
help stabilize the banks and reduce erosion.
Has anyone ever taken on a project like this. I am a beginner in this area
and would love to have someone to consult with and guide us.
