Hi folks,
I have been asking some questions about Roundup
for some time and have had concerns about its use
but was always told it was safe.
Until last year, we used Ivomec on our bison, but
when the dung beetles showed up one year, then
dissapeared for 2 years after we used Ivomec, we
decided to stop using it, went to a wromer safe
for lactating dairy cows and they came back. Also,
we have a lot more crickets than before, too. We would
have to do a scientific survey to quantify our bird
numbers, but we have tons more meadow larks and
flycatchers this year.
I just got my latest bee journal, and in it, a man recounts
losing his whole set of hives to pesticide drift to
methyl parthion. He then relates how thew baby quail who
ate the dead bees then dissapeared.
I know that the quail are dissapearing here and in
my home area in the South. There is talk of
endangered species listing.
All of this has made me realize how interconnected
things are and I now question everything.
I know roundup is used a lot by some restorationists.
Please see the link below for the effects of Roundup.
I am going to work through the references, so please
do not hammer me if there are some problems with
the article. Data on roundup is so hard to find. I just
wanted to get this out there for some comments.
