Germination rates
I have started two sets of seeds so far this year. The first set only had
the sides filed down and were started in the house in peat pots with a lamp
overhead providing heat. They broke the ground in 6 days. I plant a second
set a week later and also soaked them in warm water for about 6 hours. Seeds
also broke the ground in 6 days. As an experiment for a biology class I plan
on testing methods for increasing the time it takes for seeds to germinate,
or break the groud from day planted. I will use different types of
scarification techniques and soaking in water as we already know heat works.
