Re: Sprinkler nozzles

Matt,

There are two place's that I know of that have what you need. The first is "Automatic Rain" in Napa California. 255-2575-3229.  They have Misters of varying gallon amounts. The one's I saw in the store were 7gph and threaded into a 3/8" opening on a specially designed pvc slip " T ".  They were a little expensive at $3.50 each including the " T ".

A cheaper way to go is with 1/2gph misters from Garden Drip Irrigation, Tucson, Az, 520-292-1134. They have both barb type for the black tubing or self tapping thread type that can be used on sprinkler risers or threaded directly into plain 1/2" pvc pipe. They are $16.56 per dozen.
Both clog very easy so you will need a good filter at the beginning of the line.

Good Luck,
Bob T.
Torrance, Ca.

Can anyone recommend an overhead sprinkler that will mist the air during the heat of the day, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for cooling the pumpkin vines and leaves?I don’t want to drench and wilt the plants in the hot sunshine, but would rather broadcast a low volume, less than 10 gallon per hour, over a wide area.Note that I spoke to two technicians at Rainbird. The first referred me to another company’s 800 line that was out of service. The second technician didn’t have a clue and kept suggesting 4 gallon per minute impulse sprinklers or heavy drenching lawn sprinklers.I would be most appreciative if someone could list brand names, model numbers, flow rates, and how you’ve applied the technique.

Lost in Sprinkler-ville,

Matt
