I've heard of this before. George LLoyd told me last year some people
experienced problems like yours before. Its called flat vining were it sends
multiple runneres out, it sounds from your message that yours occured on the
main which is the most common and you preceded to use one of your secondary
mains to keep the plant going. Nothing you have done or mother nature makes
this occur it is in the genetics of the seed. Many growers up here planted
the 1010mackenzie last year and it did the same thing. I planted it and no
problems but a lot of people warned me about the seed.So your seed that you
planted had that genetic trait but doesn't mean every seed out of the 991
will have the problem. I have 4 991's and plan on planting one of them and
will keep you updated(for my neighbor of course)ha ha ha. andrew
