Wasn't there some talk a year or two back about tilling less? About how
tilling can be detrimental to existing soil structure and more isn't always
 better?

It seems like someone on the West Coast had a speaker on this subject, but I
can't remember who/what/when. California? PNW? Can't find it in the
 archives.

 Any views on this?

 Thanks,

Some have mentioned that is causes hard pan to form below the tilling depth.
It doesn't seem to happen with my soil. I've tilled twice a year for 27
years without this problem. I have a rocky subsoil below most tilling areas
but some have additional top soil below but that is kept open by worms.
Maybe the problem is with clay soils.
