situation called glazing - where the fine soil particles at the lower part
of your tilling area create a crust that is not permeable or which is
difficult for water and plants to break through. I will see if I can find a
documented reference for you.

Wasn't there some talk a year or two back about tilling less?  About how
tilling can be detrimental to existing soil structure and more isn't always
better?

It seems like someone on the West Coast had a speaker on this subject, but I
can't remember who/what/when.  California?  PNW?  Can't find it in the
archives.

Any views on this?
