I replied to this but I don't know if you saw it.... I don't think anyone
has done detailed controlled experiments with this, but going by the
research I have done on cucurbits, and experimenting on my own, the optimum
temp is anywhere from 80-90 degrees F. But it should also take into
consideration your soil temperature. If soil is cooler, use higher temp
water, but not over 90, to be safe. Pumpkins like warm roots, and are very
sensitive to cold.
If you can heat the water to 80, it definitely can help. It is also nice to
have coler water to use to mist the plants when temps get over 90-95 or so.
So it looks like you have the best of both.
80-85 degrees will mimic the rain temperature on a nice warm day.
You would not want to use any higher than 90 though.
