Congratulations.
Somehow this joke has a twinge of Green, as in
Andrews?

No...it was real. I saw it with mine own eyes... the
bidding rocked back
and forth among interested growers...the end result was Bob
wins the seed for
$5980.00 (would have been 6grand but Linda lost 20
bucks at the
casino...hee-hee). Rock Rivard kept the bidding lively
inbetween beers
(no,wait...I don't think there WAS an inbetween!) by betting
money I really
don't think he had...... The seed auction ended with an
outrageous contest
between parties for an amazing pile of dough. Those seeds
better produce !!
The dinner was fine,the auction a roar......the
seminars were
informative....and the company was the best. You cannot find
a better
networking atmosphere...it always amazes me how free the
information is ... I
met many people from the internet "in real life"
and talked to many great
growers ,not accessable on this list, that I never thought
I'd be able to chat
with.
Most everyone left the arena with a door prize except me ;(
ranging from
T-shirts to Kelp meal,Ironite to Don Langevin's new
measuring tape. The seed
sale was awesome ..Wayne: I also picked up
3-746.8Scherbers...only mine cost
about 10 bucks american (for all three).I picked up alot of
new stuff for the
future....last year I got three 723 Bobiers for about $2.20
american for the
three..next years hot seeds were likely on the table there.
It was a great weekend.....thanks to Dave McCallum and
the Pumpkinfest
Women (nice socks!) and all the OSLGA people for a good
time.
A special thanks to Paul MacIntyre who introduced me
to the first step in
the 12 step program towards orange pumpkins....thanks Paul.
And Dave Stelts...great talk,and congratz....but New
York City aint that
bad....all those T.V. people really come from Los Angeles,
Caliphornia !.
Anyway...a great seminar and late winter get-together....I
highly recommend
it for next year............Glenn A.
