Manure is very high in nutrients. Nitrate leaches into the ground water.

the tonage, but does get the price per ton. In the future it will be
harder to produce things agriculturally being under the eye of the
public, clean water act, etc. I have been very in tuned with the
nutrient management movement , point sorce pollution and such things. It
scares me when I here of the tons of manure that we are putting on each
pummpkin hill or site. Many are in serious shape when it comes polluting
the soil and water through surface runoff. Guess my point is that not
to get to carried away , use your head along with sound science.
