Well Mark,
I'm a newbie too. I ordered 7 seeds from P&P seeds, sowed 5 of them
and only one sprouted; all 6 of the seeds I planted from other sources came
up. They were all planted the same day (4/14) were kept on a heat mat at a 75
degree soil temp. The seven that did sprout all sprouted on 4/19. I wrote P&P
and explained the problem, I was told that they were all great seed. That was
it, no suggestions, no satisfaction.
My suggestion to you is to get your seed somewhere else. The seeds I
was given by Rocky Rockwell and Joel Holland came up just fine. Howard Dill
developed the Atlantic Giant pumpkin and has a website you can order from as
well. His seeds are always good. (So I've been told by my pumpkin guru)
My daughter and I are growing our first this year also. The
plants go out into the ground tomorrow.
Good luck and good growing!
