   The best money you can spend is on a soil test. The calcium levels in your 
soil may already be high. Magnesium is important and should be kept in 
balance with the calcium levels. A soil test will tell you this. If money is 
tight, you should spend your last 20 dollars on a soil test. It is essential 
that you know where the nutrient levels are in your soil and correct only the 
deficiencies.
