Iowa Update From the Carlsons in Iowa

Everyone!!!

First off I'll start with Added hopes of packing on a few more
pounds ..(with a little luck of course) As I have taken a couple trees
down on the west side of the patch that should get me a mininum of 3
more hours of light ...which is a bunch when your only used to 5 hours...
A soil sample has been taken for the first time in YEARS and
ammendments have been made...Tilled in about 4 days ago..A little late
but still better then never.....Mostly Cal Carbonate and Gypsom added
and a little urea and Am nitrate.. I think that was what it all called
for...The Cal and the gypsom was the BULK of the ammendments..
Anyways....This years line up complete with Back ups and secondary
back ups!!
HILL #1
     PRIMARY PLANT 879 Holland
#1 Back up......547 Armstrong (proven seed from a 3 time site
winner ..He went 814 with this seed last year....If he can get 814 out
of it..Imagine what I might do with this one!!!
                                                          Great cross at
887 Orr x 935 Lloyd)
       #2 Back up .....547 Armstrong
       Other backups......2 718 Carlson ( Fastest fruit I have
ever had get to 718# at day 49..a rib split ended it's run and was still
doing 20# a day when I cut her off and weighed it)

HILL #2
    PIMARY PLANT 846 Calia
#1 Back up......1062 Rivard ( what can you say about this seed..Great
fruit and great grower and what else would you expext..GREAT CROSS!!!

year 969 Krug)

     #2 865 Nesbitt ( I like this cross....705 Stelts x 723 Bobier)

That pretty much sums it up .......Oh of course I'll be planting the
