I have a very high pH also. This is a new patch with very sandy soil. I
added 115 cubic yards of composted cow manure in 6500 sq. feet of patch.
Took the soil test just after tilling the compost in so it might be off a
little. Added Calcium and Gypsum after that.
I've never been able to get a simple answer as to what a "balanced soil" is?
Mag is 372 ppm and the Calcium is 1232 ppm. but the percent cation
saturation computed is Mag 14.0% and Calcium 28.1%.
If I'm correct, I think the Calcium Mag. ratio should be about 4 to 1 with
the Calcium being higher?
