Steve,
Several of us test with Neal Kinsey, a soil fertility expert in Missouri.
He gives a real nice breakdown of all your nutrients and even gives
recommendations for your specific crop. If you request it, he will break
his recommendations down to parts per 1000 sq ft vs. parts per acre. (He
usually deals with cash crops.) You can access his website at
www.Kinseyag.com.
Being in Indiana, I hope you can make the seminar May 4th and weigh-off in
October 5th in Noblesville.

(sample A and B):
Sample A (which is my primary garden but it is a newer
garden area) is:
PH = 7.0, Buffer = 7.0
Nitrogen: NO3-N = 18 ppm
NH4-N = 12 ppm
Organic Matter = 18.5%
Nutrient Levels:
Phosphorus = 114 ppm (very high)
Potassium = 157 ppm (high to very high)
Calcium = 4456 ppm (very high)
Magnesium = 486 (very high)
CEC = 36.8 meq/100g
Percent Base Saturation K=1.5 Mg = 15.0 Ca = 83.6
MicroNutrient:
Boron = 0.8
Manganese = 12.3
Zinc = 4.5
Copper = 0.6
Iron = 3.7
Extractable Aluminum 15 ppm (soil range 10-250 ppm)
Lead level in this soil is low.
