No those would not be large enough. I usually create a 5' wide raised bed. I just tapper the edges down to meet the grade of the garden. All surface feeding roots will extend out way beyond raised bed. Just my thoughts...

I saw this in Menard's weekly ad in the newspaper and thought to myself "That would make a nice raised bed for my hills." Is it big enough? Is there more lateral root growth than it would allow at that shallow of depth? anyone care to comment or offer a thought?
