RE: Dead or at least dying.
Count me in too. I find this list very useful in many ways and the
archives are very easy to navigate.
I enjoy reading and responding to the posts and if it's something I'm
not interested in, it's easy to hit "delete". It's like going to the
mail box; it's nice to go see what has arrived. (Unless of course there
huge bills!)
I think one reason some growers don't respond to a question may be
because someone did not agree with there answer in the past and there
goes WWIII.
In some cases, there is no one correct answer. What works for some, may
not work for others due to different geographical locations etc. but it
is interesting to read different growing methods. Gets the wheels
turning in the brain which often leads to other new ideas.
Maybe what we need is someone who has the time and expertise to give the
webmaster a hand on the technical issues.

I agree Mike. I don't like BP because it is overwhelming and somewhat
impersonal compared to this list. I have made more friends through this
list than anywhere else in cyberspace. Anyone can make an acquaintance
through a chat room, but many of the people I've met on this list have
really been there when I needed them. These and others also are always
there for me if I have a question. I think this list still serves a
very
valuable purpose!
Just my 2 cents.

This site appears to have some technical issues. Posts emailed to
pumpkins@mallorn.com do not show up. Posts emailed to pumpkins@hort.net
do
not show up 100% of the time. I think part of the reason we are seeing
such
a low volumn of postings here is due to these problems. I emailed the
webmaster (Christopher Lindsey - lindsey@mallorn.com) Tuesday regarding
these issues but never received a reply.
I would rather see this list resurrected than abandoned. Its the only
message board I post to. Lower volumn can be a good thing if the content
that is there is to the point and helpful. Noone wants to sift through
hundreds of posts of cybercrap looking for a single tidbit of usable
information.
Granted, this board's format is pretty dated. But in reality, how fancy
does
it really need to be?
Just my opinion,
Mike
